Girl and Guest Friendly Hotels Guide to Patong

This is a useful guide to hotels in Phuket and Patong Thailand that are girl or guest friendly. A girl or guest friendly hotel is a hotel or a guest house that doesn’t charge a fee for bringing a lady back with you to your room at the end of the night or any time for that matter. When a hotel charges a fee for this, it is known as a joiner fee and many single men have been charged for this in a drunken state at the end of the night or in the early morning.

If you like to pick up women every night in Patong, then you would be quiet annoyed and frustrated with being asked to pay a joiner fee - every night. If you were staying in a hotel that charges this fee for a period of time, say for - 2 or 3 weeks, then this will add up to be a much more expensive trip than anticipated.
An example of hotels that charge a fee for this are the larger hotels which cater for families and it’s these kinds of hotels that try to discourage single males to bring women back to their hotel room. The larger hotels and pretty much all of the resorts in Patong - don’t like it when single men party on and get involved in un-family friendly behaviour, so they try to do their best to keep the single males away, by charging a joiner fee and keeping them – non guest friendly.

As a general rule for a single male, when you are looking to book a hotel in Phuket and especially in Patong, try to a choose one of the smaller hotels or even a guest house and make sure that you send that hotel an email to confirm if they are girl - guest friendly or not. Some of the hotels and guesthouses that are guest friendly will advertise this on their websites but some don’t. Sometimes hotel management will change their mind and start charging their guests for bringing a lady back to the room, so make sure that you always check before making a booking.

Most guest houses are girl and guest friendly and are usually run by expats who were once party people in Phuket themselves. The expats, who run the guest houses, usually come from Europe and pretty much all of them are male owners who cater for single males staying at their guest house. The guest houses are usually located very close to where all the nightlife is and have their own bar and sitting areas which face the street so the males can see all the sexy Thai women walking to and from the nightlife areas.

The main concentration of girl friendly hotels is in the Patong district and in particular – around the main nightlife area of Bangla Road and its surrounding area. Bangla Road is where it all happens and is a paradise for single males of any age who like to drink, party and pick up women. There are many bars in this area and many sexy Thai women who are looking to meet up with the tourists. The hotels around these areas are usually only a short 2 to 5 minute walk away and there are many of these hotels and guest houses in Patong.

When staying in Patong as a single male, make sure to check out a map and see how far away the hotel or guest house is located from Bangla Road, as you don’t want to stagger for too long back to your room when you have been drinking. Also, you don’t want to be getting a tuk tuk back to your hotel or guest house and having the driver trying to take advantage of you in a drunken state by elevating his taxi fare.

If you are thinking about staying in a hotel in anywhere in Phuket or Patong, you will need to determine if you want to go in the Peak, High or Low Seasons. The Peak Season is from the 15th of December till the 15th of January and is the most expensive time to go also is the most popular time to go. The High Season is the second most expensive time and second most popular time to go and this is from the start of November, till the 14th of December, then from the 16th of January, till the end of April. The Low Season is the cheapest time to go and this is from the start of April or May, till the end of October.
