Cape Promthep Phuket

Cape Promthep is the perfect place to watch the sunset as it it located on the south western tip of Phuket and every afternoon this place comes alive with activity as many people flock here to take in the view.

This view point is so popular, that bus loads of tourists come from all over just to watch the sunset here. There are so many people that come here at sunset, that it can actually be hard to find a spot to watch the view all to yourself, so getting here early would be best.


The view at Cape Promthep is good any time of the day, but watching the sun go down is even better. The cape is pretty elevated, so you can also watch the sun come up and apparently this is supposed to be even better to watch and there are no crowds like there are in the afternoon.
Most of the tourists who come here of an afternoon, are here for religious reasons and the cape is said to be a cape of the gods. From about 4pm onwards till dark, there are bus loads of tourists that turn up at the cape and most of these tourists are Asian - Buddhist or Hindu. There are Western tourists who come here too and you will see the most of them in the High Season.

Whatever your reasons for coming to Cape Promthep, it is a really good view and a must see when on holidays in Phuket.
