Karon Beach: A very large beach that is much more spread out and less crowded than Patong. The beach has lovely fine white sand that can make a squishing noise when you walk on it.
Kata Beach: Has some beautiful scenery, plenty of shade and some waves to catch when the swell is on. Volleyball is played here every afternoon from around 4pm onwards till dark.

Kata Noi Beach: A small beach with wonderful views and is very quiet all year round. Popular among surfers, Kata Noi can get some good waves particularly in the Low Season when the conditions are right.
Laem Singh Beach: Located between Surin and Kamala beaches. This beach is small and secluded and also very beautiful. There is a steep walking track to and from this beach so be prepared for this when coming here.
Kamala Beach: Not that far from Patong and much more relaxing. This beach has very nice scenery and has beachfront restaurants and bars.
Surin Beach: Just north a bit from Kamala, is Surin Beach, a relatively undeveloped beach which also has restaurants as well as cafes and bars which are located right on the beach.
Nai Harn Beach: One of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket, Nai Harn has magnificent scenery and surrounds. This beach is reasonably quiet most of the time but can get very busy in the peak season.
Nai Yang Beach: Located very close to the airport in the north of the island, this beach has wonderful tall casuarinas trees which protrude out towards the water.

Pansea Beach: A very beautiful but private beach just north of Surin beach which can only be accessed through 2 luxury resorts, Amanpuri and Chedi, so if staying at these resorts, you would have most of the beach to yourself.
Mai Kao Beach: The longest beach in Phuket, located not far from the airport. There is not much happening here, which makes it a perfect place to get away from it all, with the exception of hearing the occasional plane coming in.
Nui Beach: A secret beach below the Kata View point, which can only be accessed by boat or 4x4 as the road is not suited to other vehicles. You have to pay to use this beach because you have to pass through private land to get to it and the owner charges a small fee.
Cape Panwa Beach: South of Phuket Town and relatively unknown to tourists, this small beach is undeveloped but close enough all the facilities of the city.
