Patong Beach or Somewhere Else in Phuket?

Phuket is a large island and there are many different places to choose from that can suit different holiday makers. Patongng is the most popular area by far and this is where the majority of tourists flock to on the island.
There is a large beach at Patong which gets crowded and is full of activity throughout the day and the night and most of the nightlife is also situated in here and this can be appealing to most young and some older party people. Patong is where it’s at if you like the crowds and everything noisy. You can still find nice quiet spots on the outskirts and at the northern and southern ends of the beach.

If relaxing well away from the noise is more your thing, then just about every other place on the island would be appealing, with the exception of Phuket Town and the main areas of Karon and Kata.
There are some resorts in Phuket which have access to their own private beaches which can be about as relaxing and tranquil as it gets.
When planning a holiday, make sure you know which place is more suitable for your stay. If you are a single male, or a male traveling in a group, then staying in one of the quiet areas of Phuket wouldn’t be advisable. If you are a traveling as a family or a retired couple, then staying right in the middle of Patong may not be suitable.
